Yes. The wood comes directly from Pappy Van Winkle barrels — the same ones that held the bourbon. The grain, the color, the faint scent — all of it is real.

Q: Is carbon steel hard to maintain?
More than stainless, yes — but that's the trade-off for a sharper, harder-holding edge. Hand wash, dry immediately, don't leave it wet. Treat it well and it lasts decades.

Quintin Middleton is one of the best bladesmiths working in America — his knives have been recognized by the James Beard Foundation and trusted by professional chefs. We didn't commission a branded knife. We asked a craftsman to make something worthy of the material, and he did.
